dc.description.abstract | The objective of the study was to investigate the effect of training and development on employees’
performance at Heineken Breweries Share Company Ethiopia. The researcher has used employee
functional competency, leadership skill and career path as performance dimension and specific
objective. The researcher has used both qualitative and quantitative approach as well as
descriptive research design in the study. Simple random sampling method used. Data were
gathered through a structured questionnaires. A total of 100 employees from the head office of the
company took part in the study. Both primary and secondary used as a source data, primary data
collected from both managerial and non-managerial employee by using structured questionnaire,
secondary data collected from books, reports and other relevant material. The researcher used
SPSS version 23 to analyze descriptive and inferential statistics. The research reveals that training
and development and employee performance have positive and high relationship. Training and
development led to a positive impact on the performance of employee and an improvement in their
functional competency, leadership skill and defining employee career path. It is recommended that
Heineken Brewery Share Company should keep this good training and development practice and
to clearly communicate selection method for training and development to the employees and both
managerial and non-managerial employee should be participated on training and development
program this make the program more effective. | en_US |
